Delicious Green Barfi recipe - How to make Delicious Green Barfi

Preparation Time:    Cooking Time:    Total Time:     Makes 4 serving

Ingredients
green peas
1/2 cup freshly grated coconut
1/4 cup semolina (rava)
1 1/4 cups sugar
2 tbsp ghee
3 tbsp pistachio flakes
2 tbsp sliced almonds (badam)
1/2 tsp cardamom (elaichi) powder
2 drops pistachio essence
2 drops green food colour
Method
    Method
  1. Grease a thali (about 8 inch ) with ghee and keep aside.
  2. Crush the green peas in a mixer.
  3. Heat 1 tbsp ghee in a pan, add the semolina and roast till colour jut changes and remove in a bowl.
  4. Heat the remaining 1 tbsp ghee, add crushed green peas and roast for 3-4 minutes.
  5. Mix roasted suji, green peas, coconut, cardamom powder, 2 tbsp pistachio, 1 tbsp almond flakes and keep aside.
  6. Add about 1/2 to 3/4 cup water to the sugar and prepare 11/2 string syrup.
  7. Remove from heat add pista essence, green colour and mix well. Add green peas mixture to the syrup and mix well quickly.
  8. Spread the green peas mixture in the prepared thali. Put the silver varkh, sprinkle almond-pista flakes and press lightly with the back of greased vati.
  9. Cut into pieces and allow to cool for 2-3 hours. Serve.
  10. It can be stored upto 4-5 days in the refrigerator.
