Dates Pickle recipe - How to make Dates Pickle

Preparation Time:    Cooking Time:    Total Time:     Makes 1 cup

  1. Heat oil in a pan and add the mustard seeds.When the seeds crackle,add curry leaves and then the ginger-garlic paste. Saute for few seconds until the raw smell goes.
  2. Add about 1/2 cup water and then the dates. When the water boils, reduce the flame, cover and cook. After a few minutes, you can see that the dates are almost cooked.
  3. Now add salt, chilli powder and tamarind extract.Mix well and let the mixture thicken. Finally add asafoetida and mix.
  4. Dates pickle is ready. Once cooled, store in an airtight container and keep refrigerated.
