Dashingly flavoured, multi-coloured capsicums are cooked together with a mixture of potatoes, spice powders, besan and curds to create a dish with a wonderful texture and flavour, which you are sure to enjoy thoroughly.


The tang of curds is clearly recognizable in the Dahiwale Simla Mirch, and the best part is that it takes just minutes to cook it in the Microwave .

Ingredients
1/4 cup curds (dahi)
3/4 cup capsicum cubes (red and yellow)
1/4 cup cooked and mashed potatoes
1 tbsp milk
1/4 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
1/2 tsp chilli powder
2 tsp besan (bengal gram flour)
1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
2 tsp oil
salt to taste
Method
    Method
  1. Combine the potatoes, milk, curds, turmeric powder, chilli powder, besan, salt and ½ cup water in a bowl and mix well to form a smooth mixture. Keep aside.
  2. Combine the oil and cumin seeds in microwave-proof bowl and microwave on high for 1 minute.
  3. Add the capsicum, mix well and microwave on high for 1 minute.
  4. Add the prepared mixture, mix well and microwave on high for 3 minutes stirring once in between after 1½ minutes.
  5. Serve hot.

A good way to use coloured capsicum in a subzi. They have been nicely cooked with a completely unusual gravy that is using besan. The jeera adds a very nice flavour to this as well.
