Dahiwale Aloo recipe - How to make Dahiwale Aloo

Ingredients
2 tbsp ghee
1/4 tsp asafoetida (hing)
1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
2 grated tomatoes
1/2 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
2 tsp red chilli powder
4 medium sized boiled potatoes , cut into medium size cubes
1/2 cup water
salt to taste
1/4 cup whisked sour curds (khatta dahi)
1 tsp garam masala

For The Garnish
1 tbsp chopped coriander (dhania)
Method
    Method
  1. Whisk the curd and keep out of the refrigerator for 10 minutes before you start with the subzi. Keep aside.
  2. Heat the ghee in a kadhai. Add the hing and jeera.
  3. Once the jeera crackles add the grated tomatoes and saute for a minute.
  4. Add the turmeric powder and red chilli powder, mix well and saute for 2 minutes.
  5. Add the potatoes and saute for a minute.
  6. Add water and salt, mix well and simmer for 5 minutes.
  7. Add the curd and mix immediately. Cook on medium flame for 2 minutes.
  8. Add the garam masala powder and mix well and cook for 2 minutes
  9. Serve hot and garnish with coriander.
