After frying sometimes the vadas get a bit hard. the vadas in dahi vadas must me soft. in such case immediately after frying soak the vadas in water until it is to be soaked in the dahi. this will ensure that the vadas in the dahi are nice and soft.

Ingredients


For Vada,
2 to 3 cups urad dal (split black lentils)
4 to 5 green chillies, finely chopped
small piece of ginger (adrak), finely chopped
a few raisins (kismis)
salt to taste

For Dahi
2 to 3 cups curds (dahi)
table salt to taste
black salt (sanchal) to sprinkle
1/2 tsp sugar
cumin seeds (jeera) powder to sprinkle
chilli powder
black peppercorns (kalimirch)
tamarind chutney
coriander (dhania) leaves to garnish
Method


  1. Grind the urad dal with salt, ginger, chillies and raisins and fry in the shape of vadas.
  2. In a seperate vessel mix dahi with salt and sugar and soak the vadas in it.
  3. Sprinkle the black salt,jeera powder, chillipowder and pepper. sprinkle the tamarind chutney to cover all the vadas and garnish with boondi/sev and coriander leaves.
  4. Cool and serve.
