Enjoy this tempting crispy dahi kebab recipe with sauce of your choice as starter or snack. The kebab is created with a mixture made from boiled potatoes, spices and greens like spinach. This kebab mix is then filled with a curd and badam stuffing and then deep fried till golden brown. A delicious healthy and protein rich snack item to be served with green chutneys.

Dahi Kabab recipe - How to make Dahi Kabab


Preparation Time:    Cooking Time:    Total Time:     Makes 4 servings

4 boiled and mashed potatoes
4 tbsp blanched and chopped spinach (palak)
2 tbsp boiled and mashed green peas
1 tbsp besan (bengal gram flour)
1 tbsp chopped coriander (dhania) leaves
1 tsp chilli powder
1/4 tsp garam masala
salt to taste
oil for deep frying

To Be Mixed Together For The Filling
4 tbsp hung curds (chakka dahi)
1 tbsp raisins (kismis)
1 tbsp chopped almonds (badam)
1 tbsp chopped green chillies
1 tsp grated ginger (adrak)
salt to taste
2 tbsp cornflour
  1. Combine all the ingreidients in a bowl and knead into a stiff dough.
  2. Divide the mixture into equal portions and keep aside.
  3. Take one portion of dough, spread it on your hand, fill in 1 tbsp of the prepared filling and now roll it such that the dahi is covered and flatten into small kebabs.
  4. Take cornflour in a plate and roll out the prepared kabab on the cornflour such that it gets coated properly from both sides.
  5. Repeat the same to make more such kebabs.
  6. Heat the oil in a kadhai and deep fry these kebabs till they turn golden brown and crisp form all the sides.
  7. Drain on an absorbent paper and serve hot with green chutney or sauce.
