Cabbage salad is a crunchy fresh salad recipe with the grated or finely chopped cabbage tossed with lime juice and seasoned with mustard seeds and chillies.

250 gms fresh cabbage
2 tomatoes
1/2 cup chopped paneer (cottage cheese)
1/2 cup roasted peanuts
1 medium szied capsicum
1/4 cup grated coconut (optional)
2 green chillies
2 tbsp coriander (dhania) leaves
salt to taste
lemon juice as required
sugar as required
  1. Shred cabbage thin andfine.
  2. Chop paneer and capsicum.
  3. Deseed tomatoes and chop.
  4. Crush peanuts coarse.
  5. Slit green chillies lengthwise.
  6. Mix all ingredients from cabbage to chillies.
  7. Gently mix salt, sugar and lime juice.
  8. Sprinkle chopped coriander leaves on top.
  9. Serve chilled.
