2 cups medium sized broccoli florets
3 tsp cornflour
1 1/2 cups skimmed milk powder or low fat milk
salt to taste
2 pinches of black pepper (kalimirch) powder
2 pinches of cumin seeds (jeera) powder
1 cup water
add water if required to get the desired consistency
chopped coriander (dhania) for garnishing

  1. Boil broccoli florets in water till they are el dante (cooked but firm).
  2. Mix corn starch in 1/2 cup milk.
  3. Add remaining milk to the boiled broccoli.
  4. Add the corn starch mixture, pepper and cumin powder and salt.
  5. Stir frequently to avoid clotting of corn starch.
  6. Boil till the corn starch thickens, giving it a creamy consistency.
  7. Serve hot topped with chopped coriander.
