3 cups original bisquick
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup plain flour (maida)
3/4 cup butter or margarine
1 tsp vanilla essence
1/8 tsp salt
6 eggs
1 packet (8 oz) cream cheese , softened
powdered sugar , if desired
whipped cream , sliced strawberries and mint leaves (phudina) for garnishing

  1. Heat oven to 350° f.
  2. Grease and flour cake pan.
  3. Beat all ingredients except powdered sugar in a large bowl on low speed for 30 seconds, scraping bowl frequently.
  4. Beat on medium speed 4 minutes, scraping bowl occasionally.
  5. Pour into pan.
  6. Bake for 55 to 60 minutes or until toothpick inserted near center comes out clean.
  7. Cool for 5 minutes;
  8. Turn pan upside down onto wire rack or heatproof serving plate.
  9. Remove pan;
  10. Cool cake completely. sprinkle with powdered sugar, if desired.
  11. Garnish with whipping cream, sliced strawberries and mint leaves.
