Ingredients

Corn Pulao with White Sauce
For Corn Pulao
1 1/2 cups long grained rice (basmati)
1 cup corn (makai ke dane)
1 1/2 cups milk
3 onions
3 tsp garlic (lehsun) paste
1 to 2 green chillies
3 tbsp oil
curry leaves (kadi patta) , peppercorns , cloves (laung / lavang)
salt to taste
For White Sauce
1 cup milk
1 tbsp butter
1 tbsp plain flour (maida)
1 tbsp grated cheese
1 tbsp cashewnut (kaju) paste
black pepper (kalimirch) powder to taste
salt to taste
Method

  1. For the corn pulao
  2. Soak the rice in water for 1/2 hour.
  3. Heat oil in a cooker. add the onions and garlic paste.
  4. Saute for a few minutes till the onions become soft.
  5. Add the corn, milk and saute for 5-6 minutes. add salt to taste.
  6. Drain the rice and add it to the cooker. saute the rice for 5-6 minutes. add water till just above the rice level and pressure cook till 1 whistle and then simmer.
  7. For the white sauce
  8. Heat butter in a pan. add the maida.
  9. Saute on low flame. add milk and cheese and saute till smooth.
  10. Add the cashewnut paste
  11. And stir continuously on low flame.
