Coconut Dosa with Coconut Chutney recipe - How to make Coconut Dosa with Coconut Chutney

For Coconut Chutney
2 tsp oil
a few mustard seeds ( rai / sarson)
6 green chillies
1 cup grated coconut
2 tbsp coriander (dhania) leaves , chopped
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tbsp tamarind (imli) pulp
1/4 tsp sugar
1/2 cup fried chana dal (split bengal gram)

For The Dosa
250 gms rice (chawal) , soaked overnight
1 cup coconut , grated
salt to taste
2 tsp oil for cooking
For the chutney

    For the chutney
  1. Heat 1 tsp of oil in a kadhai and add the green chillies and fry for a minute.
  2. Add the grated coconut for about 2 minutes and let it cool.
  3. Add all the ingredients including the kadhai ingredients and blend in a mixer till all the ingredients are blended well.
  4. Season it with 1 tsp oil and mustard seeds when done.
  5. Keep aside.

For the dosa

  1. Blend the rice in a mixer and when 3/4th done, add the coconut and the salt and mix well and blend again to get a smooth batter.
  2. Heat the tava and pour a spoonful of batter and make like a dosa.
  3. Apply oil on the sides and on the dosa and cook till crisp.
  4. Serve hot with coconut chutney.

im very fond of coconut, i use it frequently in my food as garnish or the main ingredient of the recipe. this recipe of yours is now onward added to my coconut recipe list because i had tried it and its really good. and the chutney is really amzing having the combination of tamrind, chillies and coconut... this is one more variation of dosa added to the dosa list...
