Chick Pea and Corn Burger recipe - How to make Chick Pea and Corn Burger



Preparation Time:    Cooking Time:    Total Time:     Makes 4 serving


For The Patties
3 tsp olive oil
1 cup fresh sweet corn kernels (makai ke dane)
1 onion , chopped
300 gms soaked and cooked kabuli chana (white chick peas)
1/4 cup fresh bread crumbs
1/4 cup instant quick cooking rolled oats (uncooked)
2 tbsp besan (bengal gram flour)
4 tsp besan (bengal gram flour)
salt and pepper to taste
1 tsp chilly powder

For The Ketchup
1/3 cup ketchup
1 tsp honey
1 tsp lemon juice
1/3 tsp chilli powder
1/4 tsp cumin seeds (jeera) powder

Other Ingredients
4 burger buns
4 lettuce leaves
4 cheese slices
1 onion sliced and rings separated
1 capsicum sliced
For the Ketchup

  1. Mix all ingredients for ketchup; keep aside.

For the Pattice

  1. Sauté corn and onion in 1 tsp olive oil in a pan medium heat. Place corn mixture, chick peas, breadcrumbs, oats, 2 tbsp besan, salt, pepper and chilly powder in food processor, pulse.
  2. Divide mixture into 4 portions, shaping into patties. Dredge patties in remaining 4 tsp besan. Heat 2 tsp oil in a non stick tawa. Cook all 4 patty for 5 minutes, and then carefully turn over. Cook another 4 minutes until golden.

How to Proceed

  1. Slice each burger bun into two.
  2. On lower half of buns apply prepared ketchup.
  3. Arrange capsicum slices and place a piece of patty on it.
  4. Top it with onion rings and a cheese slice.
  5. Cover with upper slice of the bun and serve.
