500 gms plain flour (maida)
10 gms salt
15 gms yeast
30 gms sugar
100 gms grated cheese
water as required
50 ml oil
1 egg yolk to glaze

  1. Sift the flour on a surface and make a well in the center.
  2. Cream the yeast with sugar and little of water, pour into
  3. The well and sprinkle some flour over it and leave it to
  4. Ferment until frothy.
  5. Mix in the salt, oil and rest of the water and knead it to a soft dough.
  6. Leave it to ferment in a warm place until double in size.
  7. Knead again to punch out the air and then add grated cheese
  8. Or milk powder or tutty fruity.
  9. Shape into a form of a loaf and place it on a greased baking tin, leave it to ferment.
  10. Give an egg wash and bake in a preheated oven at 200 degree centigrade for 30 minutes.
