Chana Dal Tikki recipe - How to make Chana Dal Tikki

500 gms roasted chana dal (daria)
250 ml ghee
50 ml oil
50 gms milk powder
250 gms powdered sugar
1 tsp powdered cardamoms
sliced almond (badam) for garnishing
  1. Grind roasted chana dal in a grinder and sieve it and keep aside.
  2. Add the milk powder and cardamom powder and mix well.
  3. Heat the oil and ghee in a kadhai, add the powdered dal mixed along with milk powder and saute on a medium flame for apprx. 10 minutes.
  4. Remove from the flame and transfer mixture to another bowl immediately.
  5. Add the powdered sugar to the mixture and mix well and let it cool till warm.
  6. Divide the mixture into 15 equal parts.
  7. Take one portion in your palm and press with both palms so as to make shape of flat round tikki.
  8. Garnish each flattened tikki with halved badam.
  9. Tikkis should be kept in air tight container.
