Chennadal koshambir is a delicious accompaniment or chutney recipe prepared by blending together soaked channa dal, grated mango,coconut and coriander leaves.

  1. Soak the chana dal in enough water for 2 hours.
  2. Drain and blend in a mixer along with green chillies, mango, coconut, coriander and salt till smooth.
  3. Transfer in a bowl and keep aside.
  4. For the tempering, heat the oil in a pan and add the mustard seeds.
  5. When the seeds crackle, add the red chillies and asafoetida and saute for few seconds.
  6. Add this tempering to the dal and mix well.
  7. Serve immediately or store refrigerated.
