65 gms plain flour (maida)
110 gms butter
50 gms castor sugar
2 tbsp low fat milk
a few drops of vanilla essence
or any other desired
1 tsp baking powder
2 eggs, beaten
25 gms chopped cashewnuts (kaju)
extra plain flour (maida) for dusting
extra butter for greasing tray

  1. Warm flour in a slow oven or a clean dry pan over low heat.
  2. Sift & leave to cool.
  3. Cream butter with sugar,milk & essence.
  4. Gradually add flour,baking powder,cashews & beaten egg.
  5. Knead well for 10mins.
  6. Roll out dough on a lightly floured surface to 1\4 cm thickness.
  7. Use decorative cutters to cut out shapes desired & place on a greased tray(remember to leave room for expansion).
  8. Bake in a moderate oven for 20mins or till brown.
  9. Cool before serving.
