Cake gateau mount pleasant ) is a divine cake recipe which is sure to cross all boundaries of delight. The amazing concept of having sponge cake filled with a luscious irrestible combination of cut fruits soaked in rum and then serving the soft cake topped with whipped cream and roasted praline powder.
- Cook the apples in a saucepan with the cinnamon, sugar and 2 tablespoons of water to form a thick puree. Cool.
- Add the rum.
- Slice the sponge cake horizontally into two layers.
- Soak the layers with the soaking syrup.
- Sandwich together both the layers of the cake with the apple puree.
- Spread the whipped cream evenly on the top and sides.
- Sprinkle the crushed praline over it.
