Cabbage stir-fry is an indianised stir-fry tempered traditionally with cumin seeds and green chillies. It is a semi-spicy stir-fry mellowed by a garnish of sweetish, flaky fresh coconut, and can be enjoyed with desi and oriental main courses.
- Heat the oil in a wok and add the cumin seeds.
- When they crackle, add the green chillies and stir-fry for a couple of seconds.
- Add the cabbage, turmeric powder and salt and stir-fry for 1 to 2 minutes.
- Add the coconut, coriander and 2 tbsp water. Mix well and stir-fry for 1 to 2 minutes.
- Serve immediately.
