Many health-conscious people are beginning to replace white rice with brown rice in several recipes, to benefit from its additional nutrition and fibre content. Here is how you can cook Brown Rice perfectly using a pressure cooker, to make healthy pulaos and biryanis.
- Soak the brown rice in enough water for 30 minutes and drain well.
- Combine the brown rice along with 1 cup of water in a pressure cooker and pressure cook for 7 whistles.
- Allow the steam to escape before opening the lid.
- Separate each grain of rice lightly with a fork. Use as required.
