Deep Fry

Preparation Time:    Cooking Time:    Total Time:     Makes 4 servings

8 bread slices
1/2 cup chopped onions
1/2 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
salt to taste
oil for deep-frying
  1. Break the bread slices into small pieces.
  2. Add 3 tbsp water and mix well to make a smooth paste
  3. Add the onions, cumin seeds, chilli powder and salt and mix well.
  4. Heat the oil in a kadhai and pour a spoonful of batter in the kadhai in the shape of pakodas and deep fry till they turn golden brown and crisp from all the sides.
  5. Serve hot with tomato ketchup.
