Bread Chilla recipe - How to make Bread Chilla

4 slices of bread
1 1/2 cups besan (bengal gram flour)
1/2 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
1 tsp red chilli powder
1/2 tsp cumin seeds (jeera) powder
salt to taste
1/2 cucumber , grated
1/2 tomato , finely chopped
oil for cooking
  1. Combine the besan,chilli powder, salt, turmeric powder and cumin seeds powder in a deep bowl and make a thin batter adding enough water.
  2. Apply this batter on both sides of the bread.
  3. Sprinkle the cucumber and tomato on one side of the bread and keep aside.
  4. Heat the oil in a pan and cook each bad slice using little oil, till it becomes crisp and golden brown in colour from both the sides.
  5. Serve hot with chaat masala and chutney.
