Brahmi ka Raita recipe - How to make Brahmi ka Raita



Preparation Time:    Cooking Time:    Total Time:     Makes 3 to 4 servings

1/2 cup boiled brahmi leaves
1 tsp black peppercorns (kalimirch)
1 tsp roasted cumin seeds (jeera)
salt to taste
1 cup curds (dahi)
1/4 cup grated fresh coconut
pinch sugar

For The Tempering
2 tsp oil
1 tsp mustard seeds ( rai / sarson)
1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
1/2 tsp asafoetida (hing)
2 broken whole dry kashmiri red chillies
  1. Combine the brahmi,salt, sugar, rcumin seeds, pepper and coconut and blend in a mixer to a smooth paste.
  2. Transfer this paste to the curds and mix well. Keep aside.
  3. For the tempering, heat the oil in a pan and add the mustard seeds and cumin seeds.
  4. When the seeds crackle, add the asafoetida and broken red chillies and saute for 2 seconds.
  5. Pout this tempering over the curds and mix well.
  6. Serve immediately with rotis,chapatis and rice.
