Bharwan Makai Tamatar recipe - How to make Bharwan Makai Tamatar

Preparation Time:    Cooking Time:    Total Time:     Makes 4 serving

4 tbsp ghee
2 tbsp oil
1 tsp ginger (adrak) garlic (lehsun) paste
1 tsp chopped green chilly
1/4 cup kaju-melon seeds paste
1 tsp finely chopped onions
2 tbsp chopped tomatoes
1 cup boiled and coarsely crushed sweet corn kernels (makai ke dane)
1/2 red chilli powder
1 tbsp coriander-cumin seeds (dhania-jeera) powder
1 tsp dry fenugreek (methi) leaves leaves
salt to taste
4 no.s large tomatoes
chopped coriander (dhania) for garnishing
  1. Heat the ghee and add ginger garlic paste,green chillies,onion and saute till onion turns translucent.
  2. Then add chopped tomatoes and kaju-melon seeds paste and saute for few minutes.
  3. Add sweet corn,red chilli powder,coriander-cumin seeds powder,dry fenugreek powder,salt and mix all well.
  4. Saute this for few more minutes.
  5. Take the tomatoes and cut to half and scoop out the seeds from centre.
  6. Fill in with the stuffing prepared in the scooped out tomatoes and keep aside.
  7. Heat oil in a kadhai and put the stuffed tomatoes and saute till tomatoes are soft.
  8. Serve hot garnished with coriander with roti,paratha,naan etc.
