Besan Aloo Tikki recipe - How to make Besan Aloo Tikki

Preparation Time:    Cooking Time:    Total Time:     Makes 6 to 8 tikkis

1/2 kg potatoes
2 cups besan (bengal gram flour)
1 1/2 tbsp chopped green chillies
1 1/2 cups chopped onions
1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera) powder
salt to taste
oil for deep frying
  1. Boiled and mash the potatoes in a bowl, keep aside.
  2. Roast the besan till it turns lightly golden brown in colour.
  3. Combine the potatoes, besan, green chillies, cumin powder, onions and salt in deep bowl and mix well.
  4. Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape each portion into round thick tikki.
  5. Heat the oil in a kadhai and deep fry each tikki till it turns to golden brown in colour from both the side.
  6. Serve hot.
