Ingredients

To Be Blended Together Into A Paste
1/2 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
1/2 tsp chilli powder
1/2 tbsp grated ginger (adrak)
1/2 tsp freshly ground black peppercorns (kalimirch)
1/2 tsp cumin seeds (jeera) powder
a pinch garam masala
salt and sugar to taste
1 tbsp water

Other Ingredients
2 cups green peas
1 tbsp ghee
1 bayleaf (tejpatta)
1/4 cup milk
salt to taste

For The Garnish
2 tbsp finely chopped coriander (dhania)
Method
  1. Put the green peas in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave on high for 3 minutes, stirring once in between after 1½ minutes. Keep aside.
  2. Put the ghee in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave on high for 30 seconds.
  3. Add the cooked green peas and bayleaf, mix well and microwave on high for 2 minutes, stirring once in between after 1 minute.
  4. Add the prepared paste and 1½ cups of water, mix well and microwave on high for 2 minutes, stirring once in between after 1 minute.
  5. Add the milk and salt and blend well using a hand blender.
  6. Serve immediately garnished with coriander.

It is a dal, made without using any dal. The green peas gives an amazing taste to the dal. It is so different in taste. If you are looking for some really good change in the taste of the dal, you should definitely try this.
