Beans and Greens Sandwich recipe - How to make Beans and Greens Sandwich

Ingredients
8 multi grain bread slices
2 tsp butter
8 cheese slices
2 tomatoes , sliced
2 onions , sliced
1 capsicum , sliced

For The Tikkis
1 cup boiled mixed pulses
1 cup chopped mixed vegetables (coriander , spinach , dill)
1 onion , finely chopped
1 tsp green chilli paste
1 tsp ginger-garlic (adrak-lehsun) paste
1 cup bread crumbs
1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera) powder
1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper powder
1/2 tsp garam masala
salt to taste
oil for shallow frying

To Be Mixed Together For The Spread
1 tbsp mayonnaise
1 tbsp tomato ketchup
1/2 tsp chilli sauce
1 tsp chopped dill or chopped dill (shepu / suva bhaji)
Method

For the tikkis

    For the tikkis
  1. Blend the pulses in a mixer till smooth.
  2. Transfer in a bowl and add the remaining ingredients and mix well.
  3. Divide the mixture into 8 equal portions and shape them into small round flat tikkis.
  4. Heat the oil in a tava and shallow fry the tikkis till they turn golden brown and crisp from both the sides.
  5. Drain on an absorbent paper and keep aside.

How to proceed

  1. Toast the bread slices with butter till golden brown on a nonstick pan.
  2. Apply the spread on toasted bread slice and place the tikki on top and put the onion, capsicum and tomato slices on top.
  3. Cover with a cheese slice, and grill the sandwich till cheese melts.
  4. Serve immediately.
