Aloo ka Sheera recipe - How to make Aloo ka Sheera

4 to 5 medium size potatoes
1/2 cup sugar
4 tbsp ghee
1 cup milk
1 tbsp raisins (kismis)
1 tbsp chopped cashewnuts (kaju)
5-6 cardamom (elaichi)
6 to 7 almonds (badam)
  1. Boil, peel and grate the potatoes.
  2. Heat 2 tbsp ghee in a pan, add the potatoes and sauté well for 7-8 minutes on low flame, while stirring continuously.
  3. Add the milk, sugar, raisins and cashew nuts.
  4. Stir constantly till the mixture leaves the pan. When the colour will change, you will undertsand that aloo ka sheera will be ready.
  5. Turn off the fire. Mix the cardamom powder.
  6. Add the remaining ghee and mix well.
  7. Serve hot garnished with almonds.
