An apple a day keeps the doctor away. But this is one fruit babies have trouble digesting in its raw from till they are 6 months old. So, apple punch is a wonderful way of introducing apples to your baby's diet. As your little one grows older, apples can be stewed in lesser water to make a puree and ....

Apricot and Fig Puree
by Tarla Dalal
No reviews
Most babies take to figs very enthusiastically because of their mildly sweet taste and grainy texture - something new for their palates. Apricot and fig puree, thinned down with milk, is a good combination rich in vitamin A and fibre. Milk adds calcium which is required for the healthy development o ....

Coriander Curd Rice
by Tarla Dalal
No reviews
This mildly flavoured combination of rice with a vegetable (coriander) and a dairy product (curds) helps you to introduce more flavours to your baby's food. It paves the way for her to adapt to the family food more easily later on, when she is about a year old. This is a great recipe for a hot sum ....

Malted Magic ( Baby and Toddler Recipe)
by Tarla Dalal
No reviews
A great combination of malted cereals and pulses that provides energy, protein and folic acid. Nachni is not a commonly used cereal which is sad because it is extremely rich in iron and calcium as compared to other cereals. You can store this mixture in an air-tight container for a couple of weeks.

This is a good combination of a cereal and a pulse which is suitable for your baby once she has adapted to rice after 1 to 2 weeks of starting weaning. This will add more variety to your baby's meal and also provide plenty of protein for healthy growth.

Moong Dal Water ( Baby and Toddler Recipe)
by Tarla Dalal
No reviews
This is a nourishing food and an ideal one to start with as its texture is similar to that of breast milk. The water has been strained as babies cannot digest whole cereals and pulse before the age of 6 months. It is best to give it unstrained after your little one is 6 months old. To make it tastie ....

Rice Mash ( Baby and Toddler Recipe)

Rice mash is widely recommended as a great starter to the weaning process. It is easily digestible and is more hygienic than other foods like fruit juices, which are open to chances of contamination due to the several steps involved in preparation. Dilute the rice mash with milk (breast or top) to t ....

Strawberry Yoghurt ( Baby and Toddler Recipe)
by Tarla Dalal
No reviews
This is one of my favourite recipes and i'm sure your baby will love it too. Yoghurt is easier to digest than milk and provides almost the same amount of calcium (which is required to strengthen your baby's bones and teeth). Also strawberry adds to the vitamin c content which is extremely important ....
