Course recipes




A course is essentially one part of a complete meal, like starters, main course, desserts, beverages, and so on. The different courses of a meal are served in a particular order to ease the dining experience and to enable the diner to enjoy every dish in the best possible way. Each course might be a single dish, or a combination of dishes. Usually, a meal would comprise beverages, starters, main course and desserts. Accompaniments, although not a specific course, is a category that goes along with any of the other courses to add more zing to the dishes served. Common accompaniments include chutneys, sauces, jams, dips and pickles. If you look at an Indian meal, you will find that we generally jump straight to the main course, with a combination of different recipes like Roti, Subzis, Dal and rice, with accompaniments like kachumbers and pickles. Sometimes, a beverage like chaas might be served with the meal, although not always. And on special days, the meal is completed with a sweet or mithai.
