Mixed Sprouts





MIXED SPROUTS


Ready sprouts are available at most grocery stores. But did you know that making sprouted beans was as easy as this.

Cooking Time : Nil.
Preparation Time : 2 days.

Makes 3 cups.

Ingredients
1 cup mixed beans (whole moong, chick peas, green chana, brown chana, matki etc.)
Method
1.

Wash the beans and soak in water for a minimum of 4 hours.

2.

Drain and wash thoroughly.

3.

Keep in a jar covered with a piece of cloth for 5 to 6 hours.

4.

Place in the refrigerator overnight.

5.

Next day, wash thoroughly, drain and again keep in a jar covered with a piece of cloth for 5 to 6 hours. They will have started germinating by now.

6.

Place in the refrigerator overnight.

7.

Sprinkle water on the sprouted beans on the third day and store in the refrigerator until required for use.

Tips
In the process of sprouting, Vitamins A, B group and C (which are otherwise absent in ordinary beans) are formed.
Beans are very rich in proteins, complex carbohydrates and iron.
