Roasted Almonds are best known for their flavor, crunch, or thickening properties. To roast almonds, place them in a non-greasy pan and sauté on a medium flame. Toss them continuously with a wooden spoon for about 2 minutes to avoid burning. When light brown or brown in colour as preferred by one, cool down.
Chopped roasted almonds
Almonds can be chopped using a sharp knife and then cut it into half from the centre. Cut the half portion into another half and remove the seeds from centre. Chop ingredients by cutting them in small pieces approximately ¼ inch in diameter, although the chopped almond doesn't need to be exactly the same size. If the recipe calls for the ingredients to be "coarsely chopped," make the pieces slightly larger.
Roasted almond slivers
Almonds that are roasted becomes crisp in texture. Hence allow it cool first and then sliver it using a paring knife, cut it lengthwise into several small. Try cutting a bit thick slices for uniform almond slivers.

After roasting the almonds sprinkle salt as per the taste. This is often enjoyed as a snack. Ready salted roasted almonds are also available commercially, but the salt content is often high. Hence, when made at home, one can adjust the amount of salt.
