Description
Freshly squeezed - sometimes sweet and sometimes sour. Always tasty. To make pineapple juice, put pieces of pineapple in the blender and extract the juice. Add some sugar or honey, to sweeten the taste if sour. Also, you can spice it up with little chaat masala.

How to Select
To make it at home choose fresh pineapple that should be plump, feel heavy and have a strong sweet, but not fermented, pineapple aroma. Dark eyes, soft spots and yellowed leaves are all indicators of a pineapple way past its prime. However, it is easily available at restaurants, road side vendors and cans too. Just check on the hygiene if having it from vendors. It is sold unsweetened and sweetened in cans or bottles and as frozen concentrate. Before buying Canned or bottled juice, confirm on the freshness by seeing the manufacturing and expiry dates stamped.

Culinary Uses
" Pineapple juice is delicious, plain itself.
" A Variety of Cocktails and Mocktails are made with pineapple juice. It tastes yummy though in combination with other citrus fruits. Most commonly combined are Oranges and Sweet Lime. Pineapple with pear is very sweet and smooth, perfect for dessert. Well, juice it up with the choice of your favourite fruit and enjoy.
" It can also be combined with vegetables like Carrot.
" Pineapple juice can thus be used as a marinade and tenderizer for meat.

How to Store
Freshly extracted juice can stored in refrigerator but not more than 4 -5 hours. However, canned or bottled can be stored upto expiry date.
