I am making cake for 3 rd time and just by following your recipie I could make best ever cake .. so glad that you have mentioned how much time electric heater has to be used step wise etc that helped me to understand and make it best ever.Just that the upper brown layer is bit hard rest awesome .

I tried making cakes few times before but it never came satisfactorily good. Yesterday I read your recipe and followed it thoroughly except the part of electric beater and oven. I used only hand whisker and baked it in pressure cooker. And for the first time this cake make me so happy. It came out so soft. My family loved it too. It was awesome. Tarla Dalal    1 1/2 cups maida is approximately 200 g, 3/4 cup butter is approximately 145 g and 1 cup powdered sugar is approximately 150 g. 1 tbsp is the standard measuring spoon available in the market, which is 15 ml.

mam, couod you tell mewhat are patent flours and pastry flours. happen to see this in a supermarket lately.

Tarla Dalal    Pastry flours are mainly used for making pastries, cakes etc. While patent flour is a refined flour but a strong flour with high content of gluten used for making bread and other bakery products.
