  1. To cook brown rice, soak the brown rice in enough water in a bowl for 2 hours. Drain well.
  2. Boil enough water in a deep non-stick pan, add the salt and soaked and drained brown rice, mix well and cook on a medium flame for approx. 25 minutes, while stirring occasionally.
  3. Drain the brown rice well, transfer to a plate and separate each grain using a fork lightly.
  4. Use the coooked brown rice as required.

  6. Drain the rice using a sieve. You can rinse the brown rice under cold water so that it cools down quicky and there is no carry-over cooking.
  7. Transfer the Brown Rice to a plate, spread it out. Use as required.

I always faced difficulty in cooking brown rice. With this recipe i have mastered the art of cooking it. I tried the pressure cooker method mentioned in the video also and that turns out to be wonderful too.

I love eating health food and try and always substitute white rice with brown rice. Brown rice is low on the glycemic index and breaks down slower into your blood stream.
