The name of this recipe describes this salad rather well- it is zesty and spunky offering the palate a new combination of ingredients and flavours. Fresh, sweet bananas are mixed in with sour lemon juice, spicy chilli, fresh mint and dill leaves, creamy curd and finally crunchy roast peanuts surprising you with flavours and textures in every bite. Use bananas that are firm, yet ripe. This easy-to-make salad is a must-try!

Ingredients

3/4 cup fresh curds (dahi)
2 tbsp chopped fresh mint leaves (phudina)
1 tsp sugar
salt and to taste
2 cups sliced bananas
2 tbsp lemon juice
1/2 cup peeled and sliced cucumber
1 tbsp chopped dill leaves
1/4 tsp finely chopped green chillies
2 tbsp coarsely crushed roasted peanuts

Method
  1. Combine the curds, mint leaves, sugar, salt and pepper in a bowl and mix well. Keep aside.
  2. Combine the bananas and lemon juice in a bowl and toss well.
  3. Add the cucumber, dill leaves, green chillies and peanuts and toss well.
  4. Add the curds mixture and toss well.
  5. Refrigerate for at least an hour.
  6. Serve chilled.
