This tangy crunchy salad is a treat for tomato lovers. Not only it’s an excellent source of folic acid (vitamin B9) which keeps anaemia at bay, but also rich in vitamin B1 (thiamin), vitamin B3 (Niacin) and fibre due to the addition of walnuts and sesame seeds. Walnuts are also rich in vitamin E and omega 3-fatty acids which are considered to be a good source of fat.

Ingredients
1/4 cup roughly chopped walnuts (akhrot)
2 cups cherry tomatoes , cut into halves
1/4 cup chopped capsicum
1/2 cup basil leaves , torn into pieces
2 tsp roasted sesame seeds (til)

To Be Mixed Together Into A Dressing
1 tsp oil
1 tsp powdered sugar
1 1/2 tsp lemon juice
1 tsp finely chopped basil
salt to taste
Method
  1. Combine the walnuts, cherry tomatoes, capsicum and basil leaves in a bowl and toss well.
  2. Add the dressing and sesame seeds and toss well.
  3. Serve immediately.
