Salads are a wonderful alternative to heavy cooked meals. This simple adaptation of the world famous salad features apples, which are high in fibre required to relieve the pregnancy-related problem of constipation.

Ingredients


4 large sized apples
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp lemon juice
1/3 cup chopped celery
1/3 cup chopped walnuts (akhrot)
1/2 cup eggless mayonnaise
1/2 cup cream
5 to 6 lettuce leaves
salt to taste

Method
  1. Cut the apples into cubes.
  2. Sprinkle sugar, lemon juice and salt on the apple cubes and mix well.
  3. Add the celery and walnuts.
  4. Mix the mayonnaise and cream and add to the apples.
  5. Arrange the salad on a bed of lettuce leaves and refrigerate for atleast one hour.
  6. Serve chilled.
