Tomato Apple Drink ( Low Calorie Healthy Cooking )

Like they say an apple a day keeps the doctor away, the same can be applied to this drink made by blending tomatoes with apple. An anti-oxidant and fiber rich drink is ideal to keep diseases away.

Makes 4 glasses


Ingredients

2 1/2 cups tomatoes
2 cups large apples
salt to taste

Method
  1. Cut the tomatoes into big pieces.
  2. Peel the apples and cut into big pieces.
  3. Mix the tomatoes and apples with 1/3 cup of water and put to cook on medium flame for 5 to 7 minutes.
  4. When cooked,remove, peel, deseed and blend the mixture in a liquidiser. Strain.
  5. Serve chilled with ice cubes.

  2. Apples have a high fibre content and are rich in pectin which has the capacity of absorbing matter and increasing intestinal bulk.
  3. Apples may be prescribed in diarrhoea.
