Tofu morkuzhambu is a typical traditional South Indian vegetable recipe with the tofu cooked with coconut, tamarind pulp and select seasonings. Temper the morkuzhambu with mustrad seeds, curry leaves and chillies and enjoy with appam or rice.

Ingredients

SOFT TOFU 4 SMALL CUBES
2 green chillies
RED CHILLIES 2
JEERA 1/2TSP
CORIANDER SEEDS 1TSP
1 tomato
mustard seeds ( rai / sarson) for seasoning
2 tsp oil
BUTTERMILK 3CUPS
curry leaves (kadi patta)
CILANTRO
salt to taste
Method


  1. Pour oil in kadai
  2. Add mustard seeds and let it splutter
  3. Add tomatoes and fry
  4. Grind tofu, jeera, g. chillies, r. chillies, coriander seeds adding a little water
  5. Mix the ground paste in buttermilk
  6. Add salt to taste
  7. Add this mixture to the fried tomatoes
  8. Add curry leaves and cilantro
  9. Keep it slow flame and take it off the stove when it starts boiling.
  10. Donot allow it to boil
