Delicately flavoured and marinated fresh paneer cubes, cooked slowly on tandoor to increase every flavour to its fullest, this paneer tikkas is surely going to make anyone's mouth water!

Ingredients


For The Tikas
2 cups paneer , cut into 25 mm. (1") cubes
1 cup onions , cut into 25 mm. (1") cubes
1 cup capsicum , cut into 25 mm. (1") cubes
1 cup tomatoes , pulp removed and cut into 25 mm. (1") cubes
1 tbsp oil

To Be Mixed Into A Tandoori Marinade
1/4 cup curds (dahi) , beaten
1 tsp chilli powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
1/2 tsp ginger (adrak) paste
1/4 tsp garlic (lehsun) paste
1/4 tsp bengal gram flour
1/2 tsp chaat masala
1/2 tsp dried fenugreek leaves (kasuri methi)
1/2 tsp garam masala
2 drops red food colour (optional)
salt to taste

Method
  1. Combine the paneer, onions, capsicum and tomatoes, add the marinade, toss well and keep aside for about 20 minutes.
  2. Arrange on skewers and cook on barbeque for a few minutes. Alternatively, you could use the grill option of the oven or even just use a tava (griddle).
  3. When the edges turn golden brown, remove from the skewer and serve hot with a chutney of your choice.
