A quick, easy and healthy salad.

Ingredients


2 cups iceberg lettuce, torn into pieces
1/2 cup lettuce, torn into pieces
1/2 cup red cabbage, torn into pieces
1 cup paneer (cottagte cheese) cubes
4 slices of pineapples, cubed

For the bread croutons
2 bread slices
2 cloves of garlic (lehsun) , crushed
1 tsp butter

To be mixed into a dressing
2 tbsp salad oil
1 tbsp vinegar
1/2 tsp sugar
1/4 tsp freshly ground pepper
salt to taste

Method

    For the bread croutons

    1. Cut the bread into 10 mm. (about 5/8") cubes.
    2. Mix the butter and crushed garlic, add to the bread cubes and put them in a pan.
    3. Heat the pan over medium heat while stirring continuously till the bread cubes are golden brown and crisp. Keep aside.

    How to proceed

    1. In a serving bowl, put in both the lettuce, red cabbage, cottage cheese and pineapple.
    2. Add the croutons and dressing and toss lightly.
    3. Serve immediately.

    Tips
    1. You can cut the bread into fancy shapes using cookie cutters and fry to make fancy croutons.
