Ingredients

4 canned pears, halved

For the stuffing
3 tbsp dessicated coconut or cake crumbs
1 tbsp roasted and chopped pistachios
1 tbsp pear pulp

For the toffee sauce
4 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp butter
1/4 cup cream
2 tbsp water (if required)

Method

    For Stuffed Pears

    1. Dry roast the desiccated coconut or the cake crumbs till golden brown and mix together with the nuts and the pear pulp.
    2. Stuff this mixture in the pear halves and bake in a preheated oven for 5 minutes at 250°C till the pears are warm.

    For the toffee sauce

    1. Heat the sugar in a non-stick pan and allow it to caramelize to a light brown colour.
    2. Add 2 tablespoons water and allow it to mix with the caramel to make a syrup, over a slow flame.
    3. Add the butter and cream and mix well.
    4. Allow it to simmer for 5 to 7 minutes till it is of a syrupy consistency. Keep warm.

    How to proceed

    1. On a serving plate pour a spoonful of the sauce and place a baked pear on top.
    2. Pour another spoon of the toffee sauce on the top along the whole length of the pear. Repeat to make 3 more plates.
    3. Serve hot.
