Steamed Rice Topped With Creamy Vegetables

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups chinese steamed rice (chawal)
10 big cauliflower or broccoli pieces
8 to 10 baby corn
1 capsicum , sliced
3/4 cup sliced carrots (parboiled)
1 spring onions
1 cucumber , sliced diagonally
1 tbsp (levelled) cornflour
1/3 cup milk
2 pinches sugar
2 tbsp oil
salt to taste

Method
  1. Heat the oil in a wok on a high flame. Add the califlower, baby corn, capsicum, carrots, spring onion, cucumber and stir fry over a high flame for 2 minutes.
  2. Mix the milk, cornflour and 1/2 cup of water. Add to the vegetables and cook for 1 minute. If the minxture is too thick, add a little more water.
  3. Add the sugar and salt and cook for a few minutes.
  4. Serve as it is topped with chilli sauce.
  5. Serve hot with steamed rice.
