Ingredients


1 recipe poha idli batter
oil for greasing

For the spinach mixture
1 bunch spinach, chopped
3 chopped green chillies
1 onion, chopped
1 tbsp butter
1 tsp oil
salt to taste

To serve
Coconut Sauce

Method

    For the spinach mixture

    1. Heat the butter and oil in a pan.
    2. Add the green chillies and onion and fry for some time.
    3. Then add the spinach and salt and stir for some time.
    4. Remove from the fire and keep aside.

    How to proceed

    1. Grease a non-stick rectangular mould 170 mm. x 120 mm. (6 1/2" x 4 1/2") and put a 5 mm. (1/5") thick layer of the spinach mixture on it.
    2. Spoon out a 20 mm. (3/4") layer of the idli batter on it.
    3. Steam for 10 minutes. Cool and unmould.
    4. Repeat with the remaining batter.
    5. Serve hot with coconut sauce.
