Ingredients


12 bread slices
1/2 cup milk (for soaking the bread)

To be mixed into a filling
1/2 cup crumbled paneer (cottage cheese)
1/4 cup spring onion (including greens), finely chopped
1 tsp green chillies, finely chopped
salt to taste

Other ingredients
oil for deep-frying

Method
  1. Remove the crusts of the bread slices. Soak each bread slice in the milk for 2 minutes. Press the bread slice lightly to squeeze out the excess milk.
  2. Crumble the bread and mix well to make a soft dough.

How to proceed

  1. Divide the bread dough itno 8 equal portions and shape into even sized rounds.
  2. Flatten each bread round to make a circle of 50 mm. (2") diameter and stuff a portion of the filling in the centre of the circle. Bring the ends of the circle together so as to seal the filling inside.
  3. Repeat for the remaining bread dough portions and filling to make 7 more rolls.
  4. Deep fry in hot oil till golden brown in colour.
  5. Drain on absorbent paper.
  6. Serve hot.
