Ingredients


1 1/2 cups boiled corn (makai ke dane)
3/4 cup boiled green peas
2 large tomatoes
3/4 cup milk
1/3 cup curds (dahi)
2 tbsp ground poppy seeds (khus-khus)
1/2 tsp sugar
3 tbsp ghee
salt to taste

To be ground into a paste
5 cloves of garlic (lehsun)
2 large sized onions
10 red chillies
2 tsp coriander (dhania) seeds
1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
2 sticks cinnamon (dalchini)
2 cloves (laung / lavang)
25 mm. piece ginger (adrak)

Method
  1. Put the tomatoes in hot water for 10 minutes. Grate into a puree.
  2. Heat the ghee and fry the paste for 3 to 4 minutes. Add the tomato puree and fry again for a while.
  3. Add the green peas, corn and 1 1/2 teacups of water and cook for a few minutes.
  4. Mix the milk, curds and poppy seeds and add to the vegetables. Add the sugar and salt and boil for 5 minutes.
  5. Serve hot.
