Ingredients



For the spice mix
1 tbsp salt
1 tbsp chilli powder
1/2 tbsp freshly crushed black pepper (kalimirch) powder
2 tsp dried basil
1/4 tsp dried thyme
1/4 tsp split mustard seeds (rai na kuria)

Other ingredients
2 tbsp melted butter
1 tsp olive oil or oil
1 tsp grated garlic (lehsun)
4 large sized potatoes, cut into French fries (with the skin)
4 tbsp grated processed cheese

Method

    For the spice mix

    1. Grind together all the ingredients in a mixer and sieve the mixture.
    2. Store the sieved mixture in an air-tight container.

    How to proceed

    1. Mix the melted butter, olive oil, garlic and the spice mix in a bowl.
    2. Add the potatoes and toss well till the potatoes coat the mixture completely.
    3. Place the potatoes in a baking tray in a single layer and bake in a pre-heated oven at 200°C (400°F) for 20 to 25 minutes or until the potatoes are cooked, stirring once in between.
    4. Sprinkle cheese on top, mix well and bake for another 3 to 4 minutes.
    5. Serve immediately.
