Ingredients


3/4 cup unsalted raw peanuts, crushed
1 1/2 cups boiled green peas
2 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
2 whole dry kashmiri red chillies
a pinch of turmeric powder (haldi)
a pinch of sugar
2 tsp oil
salt to taste

To be ground into a paste
3 tbsp grated coconut
3 cloves (laung / lavang)
25 mm. (1") stick of cinnamon (dalchini)
4 green chillies
1/2 cup water

For the garnish
1 tbsp chopped coriander (dhania)

Method
  1. Heat the oil in a pan and add the cumin seeds.
  2. When the seeds crackle, add the red chillies, crushed peanuts and stir for sometime.
  3. Add 1 cup of water, turmeric powder and salt, cover and cook on a low flame till the peanuts are cooked.
  4. Add the ground masala, green peas and sugar and mix well.
  5. Cook for 5 more minutes.
  6. Serve hot and garnished with chopped coriander.
