When wandering the streets of Rome, it is hard to miss the displays of big, succulent slabs of pizzas in the windows of pizzerias. Individual servings are cut off as ordered. Businessmen, school children and tourists alike all queue up throughout the day for the most inviting of snacks - the pizza. Toppings are deceptively simple using a few ingredients. This recipe is of a delectable whole wheat pizza topped with mushrooms, garlic and walnuts, flavoured with lots of fresh and dried herbs!

Ingredients

Method
  1. Mix together the cheese, mixed herbs and chilli flakes. Keep aside.
  2. Place one pizza base on a greased baking tray.
  3. Spread half the pizza sauce over the pizza base.
  4. Arrange half of the mushrooms, garlic, walnuts and basil leaves and sprinkle some salt on top.
  5. Top with half the quantity of the prepared cheese mixture.
  6. Bake in a pre-heated oven at 200°C (400°F) for 15 to 20 minutes or until the base is evenly browned.
  7. Repeat for the other pizza base and the remaining ingredients.
  8. Serve hot.
