  1. There is no contesting the lure of onion's flavour and strong smell. Roasting enhances these. Simply pierce an unpeeled onion with a fork and then roast it on an open flame for 5 to 10 minutes, turning it at regular intervals.
  2. Ensure that the flame is low and continue roasting till the outer layer is charred and black. Then, cool and discard the outermost layer and use as required.
